I didn’t quite know what pivoting meant until someone described my journey since my dad’s death as a series of transformational events or pivots. To me, these were points where I, by default reconfigured myself but on reflection, it wasn’t something that just happened, I was making a deliberate choice to pivot and transform each time.
Today, I find myself pivoting again. I qualified as a lawyer/ Solicitor in 1995 which seems a long time ago and though I am still a Solicitor, I have stepped back from client care. I am no longer the litigation lawyer I once was. I love to work in legal practice, and I am privileged to be able to do so. Many people dream to have the perfect life-work balance. My dream was to go from being a full time solicitor and Partner in a law firm, to having a varied portfolio of creative projects. Now I work two days as a Team engagement and development partner for a boutique international law firm. I also run my coaching business, and write for the newspaper. I have done it, I have my portfolio of creative projects, and each in their own right bring me enormous pleasure, joy and dare I say, prosperity. However, the icing on the cake is that with each project I am able to touch lives, inspire and make an impact. It feels good to arrive at this point as I approach my father’s tenth anniversary.
It took some courage to go from my safe career to actually running my own business, and to being me.
Losing my dad led me to break open, and that led to my experience of having coaching to figure our my what next. It was so positive that I decided to become a Coach, and I got my ILM7, a certificate in Coaching and mentoring senior professionals in operational and strategic roles through Xenonex Coaching.
I now coach exceptional and high performing individuals to move from stuck island to awesome island. I love cutting to the chase to help these souls to be the change they wish to be. As a driven person myself I know what it feels like to find ourselves in that valley where we are feel it is time to find our groove again.
So from being a Solicitor and a Partner in a legal practice, I have pivoted to finding my new chapter, this entails helping leaders in business and life, to find their mojo again.
I bring to my coaching my vast professional experience and knowledge as a trained lawyer and Business, and life Coach. I also bring to the table my life experience as a carer, and as someone who has walked the journey of grief. My reflective practice is visible in my book and in the newspaper columns I write.
Potential coaching clients may ask why should they work with me. I am Coach with accreditation, training and years of practice. My experience and knowledge is priceless and I always aim to over deliver as I love what I do to help others see their greatness.
My question to you is this. Is there anyone you know who could do with Coaching, and whom I should reach out to?
Thanks for reading this. Peace be with you.
