Day 8, lessons learned from my ‘detachment’ experiment!
The background: On 15th December I announced to those who needed to know that I was taking a break from the digital world, including TV, news, social media, and radio. To my surprise I am enjoying where I am, it is BLISS.
I have learned:
To live an extraordinary life, we need extraordinary habits meaning if we keep doing the same thing day in and day out, we cannot hope to see the change we desire!
If something in our world seems out of balance, do not blame the world. Go inwards there is often work to be done with the inner self. Accountability starts with the self.
We cannot find peace amidst the chaos.
Mostly, news bulletins and news apps carry negative news, sadly, it is negative news that attracts attention.
Turning off all the distractions and the addiction to the TV, and scrolling social media so digital, and mobile devices is liberating. The world will not grind to a half by our ‘absence.’
Self-care really is like breathing is to stay alive. It ought to be non-negotiable and paramount.
Journaling is good for the soul it is like talking to a therapist who happens to be an expert in us! And it is free.
Giving yourself permission to look back and celebrate all the obstacles we have overcome to arrive here is worthwhile.
If we blame the world for not noticing our presence it is because we do not see us!
That is it, extracts from my personal diary in the hope it helps others to find their joy.
